Your pay
Convert any pay period in seconds
Whether a job quotes you an hourly rate, a monthly figure or an annual salary, this tool converts between all of them so you can compare offers on the same basis. Enter the amount, choose whether it is per hour, week, month or year, and adjust your hours per week and weeks per year for an accurate hourly rate. Full-time is usually 40 hours over 52 weeks — 2,080 hours a year.
Gross vs net: what you actually take home
The figures here are gross — before income tax, social contributions and other deductions. Your net (take-home) pay will be lower, and by how much depends entirely on your country and circumstances. Use the gross numbers to compare jobs, then check your local tax rules for the net amount.
Put your salary to work
Knowing your monthly pay is step one; giving it a job is step two. The suggested 50/30/20 split above — needs, wants, savings — is a simple starting budget. Turn the savings slice into wealth by investing it consistently: see our budget calculator, read how much to invest each month, and project the growth with the compound interest calculator.
How to Calculate Your Salary (Hourly to Annual)
Formula: Annual = Hourly × hours/week × 52 · Monthly = Annual / 12
- Take your hourly rate and usual hours per week.
- Multiply by 52 weeks for the annual figure.
- Divide by 12 for monthly, by 52 for weekly.
- Reverse any of these to convert back to an hourly rate.
